Brigham City Open
We had a great turnout for the 2011 Brigham City Open. 2011 will be remembered as the year that the amateurs came to play. Nick Drost, college golfer from Dixie State and Brighton High, hit 17 greens in regulation and made a few putts to shoot 65 to take home the title.
Steve Schneiter to represent the Utah Section PGA in the PGA Championship Again
HERSHEY, Pa. – David Hutsell of Baltimore, Md., the 44th PGA Professional National Champion, will lead a group of 20 PGA Professionals to the 93rd PGA Championship, Aug. 8-14, at Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Ga.
Highland Classic Pro Offical Event
Alpine Country Club offered perfect course conditions and weather for the 2011 Highland Classic Pro / Official event. The team form Gladstan Golf Course led by Tracy Zobell held off a team from Willow Creek Country Club for the victory.

Purser and Green Claim Utah PGA Junior Championship Title
The summer weather is finally warming-up and so are the Utah Section PGA Championships. Soldier Hollow Golf Course hosted some of the best golf, and yes some of the best weather of the year, Monday June 20th and Tuesday June 21st. BYU bound Devin Purser shot a sizzling opening round 64 to take the first round lead in the Utah Section PGA Junior Championship. Purser followed his first round score with a 69 for a two day total of 133. Purser finished with the 2011 Utah PGA Junior Title and the right to represent the Utah area at the National PGA Junior Championship to be held at Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne, Indiana on August 2-5, 2011.
Killpack Repeats at Provo Open
Former BYU Cougar Nick Killpack needed a sand-save bogey on the final hole to edge former college teammate Clay Ogden by one shot to take home the Provo Open title for the second straight year at the Reserve at East Bay.
US Open Pool Update
Round three of the U S Open saw some low scores. Joe Deluca used Lee Westwood 65 to take the third round lead. He holds a one shot lead over Randy Long and several others are within striking distance.
