The Utah Governors was played on Wednesday at Promontory Golf Club in Park City, Utah. Promontory was a great site for the event offering the Nicklaus Painted Desert Golf Course for the morning alternate shot format and the Pete Dye Course for the afternoon matches.

By the time our members host their club championships and invitational events, plus slip in a couple of playing opportunities, there is little time left to donate toward supporting golf growth activities.

The Utah Open has been a Utah Golf Tradition since 1926. When Eddie Morrison won the first event at the old Salt Lake CC. The 2011 Siegfried & Jensen Utah Open continues the tradition with an exciting venue of activities during tournament week.

In the eight year history of the Utah State Senior Open an amateur golfer has never won the championship- until now. Poulson paired a couple of 68’s for a two round total of 136 (8 under par) to win the championship.

The Utah Section PGA and Salt Lake City Golf Division teamed up to create one of the most exciting Junior events of the season. This year the event was named after long time PGA member Tom Sorenson who has given s much to the game of golf, especially through juniors.
