Who is that good-looking PGA Professional featured on the back cover of your November issue of the PGA Magazine? None other than Utah’s own Ken Weyand, Director of Golf at Glenwild Golf Club and Spa in Park City, Utah. Just like all PGA Members Ken “wears many hats” in his position at Glenwild, which is one of Utah’s premier golf facilities. However he has really excelled in the areas of merchandising and member services.
2011 Four Ball Match Play Championship
Chris Moody and Matt Baird defend their Four Ball Match Play title!
Moody and Baird came back to beat Jared Barnes and Allen Enochson with a birdie on the 20th hole in the final match. Barnes and Enochson were two up with three holes to play. After some solid play by Enochson and a forty putt by Barnes on fifteen, Moody and Baird looked like they might come up a little short in 2011. Moody and Baird came alive in the nick of time and made birdies at sixteen and seventeen to even the match going in to final hole. The eighteenth hole at the Salt Lake Country Club was halved and sent the match into extra holes.
Ron Branca Announced as Utah PGA Professional of the Year

Now they have another generation of Branca achievement to add to the legacy. Ron Branca has been named The Utah Section PGA Professional of the Year for 2011!

High school girls golf teams endured the worst-ever weather year this spring and the boys 3A and 5A high school golf championships played through some of the most challenging weather conditions possible without cancellation!
