2011 Four Ball Match Play Championship
Chris Moody and Matt Baird defend their Four Ball Match Play title!
Moody and Baird came back to beat Jared Barnes and Allen Enochson with a birdie on the 20th hole in the final match. Barnes and Enochson were two up with three holes to play. After some solid play by Enochson and a forty foot putt by Barnes on fifteen, Moody and Baird looked like they might come up a little short in 2011. Moody and Baird came alive in the nick of time and made birdies at sixteen and seventeen to even the match going in to final hole. The eighteenth hole at the Salt Lake Country Club was halved and sent the match into extra holes. Baird birdied the difficult second hole to win the match on the 20th hole. The final two teams had several tough matches throughout the year before making it to the final.
The Four Ball Championship started back in April with thirty two teams qualifying at Alpine Country Club during the Spring Pro Pro. Matches were played at courses throughout the state over the past five months. This event is always a favorite and we would like to thank all those who participated.
