This years Spring High School State Championships featured new formats, great competition, and fun! The Boys 1A Championship and the Girls 1A & 2A Championships were held at St. George GC on Monday and Tuesday, May 11 & 12. The Girls 3A golf Championship was held at Bloomington Country Club on May 13 & 14. While the lower high school classifications were enjoying good weather conditions in the St. George area the upper 4A and 5A classifications saw a mixed weather forecast in Northern Utah during the same spring high school golf championship week. The 4A Girls Championship at Eagle Mountain GC in Brigham City featured cool weather and very windy conditions; while the 5A Girls Championship at East Bay GC in Provo escaped most of the cool windy weather.
Additional excitement built for the Girls 3A, 4A, and 5A classification as they transitioned to a two day, 36 hole championship format. This added to the competitive atmosphere within these classifications.
