Utah Golf Professionals hope to retain the “Governor’s Cup” in the traditional golf matches against Utah’s top Amateurs. Utah’s top golf professionals are still using an unexpected defeat at the hands of the amateurs two years ago as motivation in the 2014 version of this annual contest pitting Utah’s Amateur golfers against their traditional counterparts. Hidden Valley CC is host to this year’s unique competition. Each team of professionals plays against amateur opponents in a Foursome match (Alternate Shot); a Four-Ball Match (Best Ball); and Individual matches. The winning team takes home the gold Governors cup trophy as well as bragging rights for that year!

There are many exciting matches scheduled throughout the day. Recent Utah Amateur Champion Jon Wright and partner Christian Jensen will be playing against PGA Championship Qualifier Dustin Volk along with Mountain View GC professional Mark Owen. The eight regular matches along with the four senior matches promise a full day of great championship golf.
