The Utah Section PGA held the annual Highland Golf Classic which is Utah’s version of a Pro-Official event. Golf Pro’s teamed up with 3 other officials from their course or club which included Superintendents, Club Managers, Presidents, City officials, and Owners. Teams enjoyed the superb conditions at Wolf Creek Resort in Eden, Utah as they played a Las Vegas Scramble format. Lynn Landgren and team Wingpointe earned the victory with a very low score of 115 just barely beating Chris Moody and team Riverside CC who shot a 116.
A special feature at the awards luncheon was Utah Section PGA Executive Director Scott Whittaker. He briefly outlined the new GAU (Golf Alliance Utah) and the subsequent contracts Utah has made to conduct an Economical and Environmental impact study of Golf in Utah.
This event has been a favorite among golf professionals and golf course officials alike with much thanks to Lynn Ware and Highland Golf. Thanks also go out the Intermountain Chapter Golf Course Superintendents Association and all the pros and officials who played.
