Team LaCome Takes the National Car Rental Pro-Am

Author: Jesse Dodson

Team Keith LaCome won the National Car Rental Pro-Am Series Monday at Jeremy Ranch Golf & Country Club in Park City, Ut, with a team score of 124, -20.

LaCome, assistant professional at Salt Lake’s Old Mill Golf Course, was one of 44 Utah Section PGA professionals to take on a windy Jeremy Ranch in the ever exciting 2017 National Car Rental Pro-Am. LaCome’s team included Devin Mortensen, Randy Mortensen and Aaron Robbs. Together they carded 6 eagles, 9 birdies, a par and two bogeys. The bogeys kept things close with Team Jordan Bloxham only two strokes behind with a 126, -18.

The ultimate goal, as in any tournament, is to compete. However, the National Car Rental Pro-Am Series offers a “unique opportunity for eight fully-enrolled Emerald Club teams to be randomly selected to win a VIP golf experience with the Bradleys,” according to pga.com.

2011 PGA Champion Keegan Bradley is the Pro-Am Series ambassador along with PGA Professional Mark Bradley, Keegan’s father, and his aunt Pat Bradley, LPGA Legend. The Pro-Am Series goal is “To provide an exciting opportunity for PGA Professionals and thousands of amateur golfers nationwide to experience the fun and excitement of competing in these tournaments.” Today’s event was only one of more than 300 tournaments across the PGA of America’s 41 Sections in the past three years. Today’s field of 176 Utah golfers now join the 20,000 plus golfers that have participated in the Pro-Am Series.

A special thanks to National Car Rental, the Utah Section PGA professionals and the Jeremy Ranch Golf & Country club staff for making today’s event great.
