2017 Match Play Championship is Underway at Hill Air Force Base Hubbard Golf Course

The Utah Section PGA Match Play Championship presented by VLCM, teed off today at Hill Air Force Base Hubbard Golf Course.  Today’s Pro Am determined the bracket seeding with a full-field of Utah Professionals playing for 32 spots. 


Hubbard GC, home of the Match Play Championship for the last decade, once again provided Pro-Am participants with a championship venue while catering to Utah professionals with a challenge that demanded attention on every shot. 


Pete Stone, reigning Match Play champion and two-time winner of the event, will lead this year’s Championship as the number one seed.  Davis Garner claimed the second seed by firing a 68 (-4). Garner beat Joe Summerhays, Shawn Edwards, and Tommy Sharp in a scorecard playoff for the second spot.
