A record number of Utah Golf Professionals teamed up with their Assistants this December to compete in the 2013 Utah Section PGA Pro-Assistants Championship presented by TaylorMade Adidas Ashworth Golf. A total of 53 teams and 94 players made this the largest Pro-Assistant field ever! This event has long been a part of the Utah PGA schedule and its primary purpose is to cultivate the relationship between Head Golf Professional and Assistant Golf Professional. The 2-Man Best Ball competition consisted of 2 rounds and both were played at spectacular courses!

Players enjoyed the warmth that St. George had to offer in Round 1 at Sky Mountain Golf Course following a riveting education meeting and breakfast put on by TaylorMade. Bret Wahl, Vice President of R&D irons/putters for TaylorMade outlined club performance breakthroughs and fitting strategies.

Round 2 was played at Sunbrook Golf Course: The Pointe/Woodbridge where Tracy Zobell and assistant Johnathon Ward from Gladstan Golf Course shot a score of 65 to go along with their 61 in Round 1 to win the Pro-Assistants Championship! In the Adidas Division Chad Pettingill and Jake Hanley from The Jeremy won with a 60-61, 121 total!

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to Phil Deimling and Bret Wahl of TaylorMade and Jeff Smith of Adidas Ashworth for making this an outstanding tournament! A combination of fantastic weather, good golf courses and great sponsors made for one of the best Pro-Assistant events ever! This has always been a favorite among Utah Section PGA Golf Professionals so mark your calendars now for next December.
