Hill Air Force Base and Hubbard Golf Course welcomed 32 Utah Section Golf Professionals as they hosted the 2013 Utah Section PGA Match Play Championship. In a gritty battle for the title Chris Moody emerged as Champion! Moody has won many other Utah PGA Events including Player of the Year and this win of the Match Play Championship means a lot to him. Losing in the semi and quarter finals several times before he was happy to finally be holding the Trophy this time. Moody continued his consistent play in the championship match only being down 1 after Rhees’s birdie on the first hole. He gained momentum winning holes 3 and 4 and never trailed again in the match. Rhees did square the match after the 10th hole and then Moody’s birdie at 12 changed the momentum as he closed out the match with birdies at 15 and 17 to win 3 & 1.
