Two Prominent PGA Section Golf Professionals Pass away
April 13, 2015
Two prominent Utah Section PGA Professionals passed away this month. Both Tommy Williams and Gary White were much admired by their fellow professionals and the many people that they positively influenced over many years of service to the game of golf.
Gary White earned the respect of countless Southern Utah golfers as the Director of Golf at the Coral Canyons Golf Club in Washington, Utah for its first ten years of operations. Since that time Gary worked as a lead golf instructor in both Mesquite, NV and at the St. George area. Gary will be remembered by his colleagues and friends as an affable, long ball hitting professional, with a great positive attitude.
White was 64 years of age when he passed away of cancer.

This new state of the game indoor teaching center was the perfect site for this member education opportunity.
Colby Cowan Selected as the 2014 Utah PGA Professional of the Year
Colby Cowan kept the same job this past summer, but he’s occupying a new office. The site is St. George’s Southgate Golf Course, that’s both symbolic and significant to Cowan, who declared himself “back in the golf world” as a result of that move. He never left, actually. It’s just that reporting to work at a golf facility reminds Cowan that he’s still in the game. That involvement occasionally became obscured when he worked in the city office building.
