In a back and forth contest, in bitter cold weather Friday, Oct. 30, Barry Schenk and Adam Johnson defeated Joe Summerhays and Eric Bumstead 1-up to win the Utah PGA Four-ball Matchplay Championship.
3A State Championship Recap
Park City head coach George Murphy began as the Miners’ head coach in 2007 and every year since the Miners have taken home the first place trophy. Talk about a dynasty.
Thursday at Soldier Hollow G.C., Park City took home yet another 3A boys golf state championship trophy thanks in large part to senior Mitchell Schow who took medalist honors for the third straight year.
However, even after winning their eighth straight championship, the Miners are already looking forward to next year.

Rowland Hall senior Garret Furubayashi was calm during his playoff for the medalist honors. Well, calmer than previous years at least.

4A and 5A Boys Utah State Golf Championship Recap
Confidence empowered both Connor Howe, from Weber High School, and Rhett Rasmussen, from Corner Canyon, to individual titles. But overall teamwork led Lone Peak and Timpview to team championships at the 4A and 5A Boys Golf State Championships.
Howe, who posted a tournament leading 10-under 62 Monday returned with a solid 4-under 68 Tuesday on Soldier Hollow’s Gold Course to earn the 5A individual title.
