PGA President Allen Wronowski was on-hand at the recent Utah Section Annual Meetings to help preview PGA and Utah Section Golf 2.0 plans. President Wronowski fulfilled the promise made at the 95th PGA Annual Meeting in Orlando that every PGA Member needs to hear the important message of Golf 2.0. He promised section visits by the officers of the PGA to all sections that wanted one. The Utah Section Officers jumped at the chance to host the PGA President and President Wronowski more than fulfilled his promise.
President Wronowski attended the entire block of meetings that make up the Utah Section Annual Meeting Series. He addressed a few awed apprentices at the Section’s Apprentice Orientation then moved on to the Utah Section’s Winter Board of Director’s Meeting. The next evening he attended the Utah Section PGA Awards Banquet and helped honor Utah’s Section Award Winners and Golf Community Award Winners.
Golf 2.0 was the theme of the Utah Section’s Open Forum Meeting. President Wronowski expertly brought Utah Section PGA Members up to speed about the Golf 2.0 timeline and all of the unique aspects of this initiative. Utah Section Members were very engaged and accepting of the Golf 2.0 message and it importance to the game of golf’s future. After the Annual Meeting Dinner President Wronowski gave his formal officers report at the Utah Section’s 27th Annual Meeting.
The Utah Section PGA Officers recognized the importance of the Golf 2.0 initiatives early on through the PGA Spring and Fall Leadership Conferences. They and Section Staff have developed a menu of informational and support initiatives to back-up the Golf 2.0 message. The Utah Section Membership was presented with supporting materials and presentation of pertinent local topics like, “Communicating Up” and “Speaking Female”. They were also introduced to new support programs developed on the Section Level like: “Block Parties”; “Golf in Utah Schools”; “Fashion on the Greens” & “Golf and Giggles” events, as well as a new “Utah on Par” PerformanceTrak initiative. The Utah Section has invested in promotional equipment to help support Members taking golf out into the communities. Program outlines, GolfZilla, “Birdie Ball” and “Snag Golf” equipment have all been secured for Section Members use.
President Wronowski’s visit to the Utah Section PGA and the powerful delivery of the Golf 2.0 message made this one of Utah’sbest Annual Meeting Series ever. To quote Utah Section President Jared Barnes, “I have never seen so many of our members’ engaged and ready to support a PGA initiative as I have witnessed this week”.
