2024 Junior Majors Series

This is Major!

Major Membership Requirements:

The Majors Series will consist of one- and two-day events throughout the summer for junior golfers ages 13-18 looking for a more competitive experience. 

In order for players to gain a 2024 Major Membership and be able to compete in the 2024 Major events, juniors will need to qualify or be exempt in through the following:

      Top 10 on the Boys and Girls Major Points 2023 Majors Player of the Year List. (Will not go down the list depending on kids who have aged out of the junior program.

      Top 5 finish at the 2023 Major Championship

      Winner of any Major in 2023

      2023 Player of the Year Boys and Girls ages 13-18

      2023-2024 All State First-Team (Must have averaged 89.9 or better with official region results)

      Two host course exemptions will be allowed at each Major event.

Q-School:

Two Q-School events to be held in April and May of 2024 as an opportunity for all other juniors to qualify for the 2024 Major Season.

Q-School will consist of a 1 day 18-hole event with a percentage of the field qualifying based on the field size. The percentage is estimated to be 20-25% of the field.

      If you do not qualify at the first q-school or cannot participate in the April q-school, you can participate again in the May q-school. (Registration for the May q-school will not open until the completion of the first q-school)

      The additional way for someone to gain Major Membership after q-school is to win any JET event during the 2024 Season.

To simplify the registration process and yardages during events age groups will now be Boys 13-15 & Boys 16-18 as well as Girls 13-15 & Girls 16-18.

Utah Section Reserves the right to allow players in the field at any time.

Registration for all events will open 14-Days Prior to the event date

June 5-6, 2024 Glenmoor Junior Major @ Glenmoor GC

The Top 3 Boys and Top 2 Girls in the 13-15 and 16-18 age groups qualify for the Junior Major Championship.

June 10-11, 2024 PGA Junior Qualifier/Championship @ Soldier Hollow GC

Qualifying event for the National PGA Junior Championship. 2 Boys and 2 Girls from the 16-18 Age Groups will qualify to compete at Congressional Golf & Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland July 30-August 2, 2024 . This event will not be counted toward Junior Major POY points. OPEN TO ALL AGES 13-18

June 19, 2024 One-Day Junior Major @ TalonsCove GC

The Top 3 Boys and Top 2 Girls in the 13-15 and 16-18 age groups qualify for the Junior Major Championship.

June 25-26, 2024 Tooele County Major @ Oquirrh Hills GC
The low scoring player in the Boys 16-18 age group will qualify into the Utah State Amatuer July 8-13, 2024 @ Ogden Golf and Country Club.

July 1, 2024 One-Day Junior Major @ Bonneville GC

The Top 3 Boys and Top 2 Girls in the 13-15 and 16-18 age groups qualify for the Junior Major Championship

July 9-10, 2024 Davis County Major @ Davis GC and Valley View GC

The Top 3 Boys and Top 2 Girls in the 13-15 and 16-18 age groups qualify for the Junior Major Championship

July 15-16, 2024 The Oaks Major @ The Oaks GC

The Top 3 Boys and Top 2 Girls in the 13-15 and 16-18 age groups qualify for the Junior Major Championship

July 22-23, 2024 Salt Lake County Major @ Old Mill GC

The Top 3 Boys and Top 2 Girls in the 13-15 and 16-18 age groups qualify for the Junior Major Championship

July 29, 2024 Junior Major Championship @ Hobble Creek GC

The top 3 boys and top 2 girls in each age group from each qualifying event will be invited to play in The Junior Major Championship. Exemptions into the Siegfried & Jensen Utah Open and Utah Women’s Open available for 15-18 division winners and Players of the Year.

 

 

Major Membership Fee: $100 includes UGA Hanidcap Card and Special Membership Gift

2-Day Event Entry Fee: $100 Per Event for Major Members Entry fee includes green fee, tee prize, lunch and a payout in the host golf shop.

1-Day Event Entry Free: $50 Per Event for Major Members Entry fee includes green fee and lunch

Qualify to play in the Siegfried & Jensen Utah Open and PGA Junior Championship:
The winner of The Junior Major Championship at Hobble Creek GC for the boys 15-18 division will get an exemption to the Utah Open at Riverside Country Club. The winner of the girls 15-18 division will get an exemption into the Utah Women’s Open at Thanksgiving Point Golf Course.

Additionally, Major Player Of The Year Points will be awarded at each qualifying event. The boy with the most points in the 15-18 group will get an exemption to the Utah Open at Riverside Country Club. The girl with the most points in the 15-18 group will get an exemption into the Utah Women’s Open.

Juniors may choose to play up in an age group, but not down. Age break down is 13-15 & 16-18.
