Happy New Year! We can’t wait to get started and to share another outstanding summer of golf with the best junior golfers and parents in the country!

Thank you for your participation in the Utah PGA Junior Series as we have seen our highest numbers of membership on record! As our numbers have increased, we have worked diligently to make adjustments to enhance the program and your experience.  We will continue to implement changes to accommodate more players in multiple events while maintaining the exceptional quality that the Utah Section PGA provides for our junior golfers.

Here is a summary of growth adjustments for 2023:

PGA Major Series

In order to improve the overall experience while keeping competition at the highest level, we will be lowering the handicap requirement for entry into our Major events.  Requirement will now be 8.9 handicap index for boys 13-18 and 19.9 index for girls 13-18.

Registration Dates

This year we will be offering multiple registration dates for events throughout the season. Our hope is this will eliminate the issue of signing up for all events at once only to discover a player can only attend some of them, which in the past has limited the opportunity for waitlist players to get into events.

February 1, 2023 Membership registration opens and the 2023 Junior Series Schedule will be released.  

March 1, 2023 Registration begins for all events between April 1st to June 30th. 

May 15, 2023 Registration begins for all events after June 30th.

Additionally, with the new registration dates, we will introduce a new cancellation policy for this season to create more opportunities for juniors to play.

Junior Majors Cancellation

  • From date of registration until 2 weeks prior to event: $5 fee
  • 2 weeks prior to event: $25 fee
  • Between 2 weeks and 3 days prior to event: $50 fee
  • 72 hours prior to event or later NO REFUND

18-hole Event Cancellation

  • From date of registration until 2 weeks prior to event: $3 fee
  • 2 weeks prior to event: $15 fee
  • Between 2 weeks and 3 days prior to event: $25
  • 72 hours prior to event or later NO REFUND

Junior golf in Utah is flourishing beyond our wildest expectations! The high quality of play and record numbers will no doubt make 2023 one for the ages!
