2012 Masters Contest
The 2012 Masters Championship was epic as always. Bubba Watson’s four consecutive birdies on the back nine along with the creative shots only he could pull off, made Sunday at the Masters unforgettable. Bubba is a Masters Champion that all golfers can relate to. He has had no formal training, loves to see how far he can hit the ball, will try any shot imaginable and looks like any other guy you might see at the municipal course on a Saturday afternoon. Bubba will definitely be a popular Champion!
Speaking of Champions, Aaron Brown held off fifty Utah Section members and apprentices for the top prize in our Second Annual Masters Pool. Aaron had a total of 71 points to beat Mike Bicker and Mike Manning by nine overall points. Aaron had Mickelson, Kuchar and Oosthuizen as three of his ten picks and their tie for third place took him to the top. Aaron had eight out of his ten guys finish with points. Mike Bicker and Mike Manning each had a player in their group miss the cut, which ultimately led to their second place finish.
We had a record number of guys join us this week and we hope to add more of you for the U S Open in June.
Next time you see Aaron and the two Mike’s they might be sporting their new PGA digs!
